May 28, 3358. 0400 hours, Glaucus System, Sisyphus orbit.
The warp point from the Indra System suddenly exploded without warning as battleships came into existence. The two forts that had been abandoned (but unknown to the UCHD, had three nuclear weapons inside of them) were scanned for any sign that might hold life. Nothing was found to be in operation. The rest of the fleet soon arrived. The battleships which were followed by the battle cruisers and the destroyers. The Transports soon followed twenty minutes later. The transports were guarded by the heavy cruisers.
"Admiral, we're seeing movement from the enemy fleet. It looks like at least ten of their ships are moving away from the planet Sisyphus and heading towards the local star. Unless there is a closed warp point there then that must mean they are committing suicide. The ten ships aren't on any of our charts but it looks like three cotton class tenders, two battleships, four heavy cruisers and one I repeat at least one troop transport. The other fleet is still in orbit around the planet Sisyphus which are only fourteen battleships. And they have starfury screens." the radar sailor announced.
Ivan Antov was reading the battle on the screen before him when suddenly both of the forts went up in a nuclear fireball simultaneously. At least fourteen transport ships were out right destroyed. The ten damaged transports had heavy damage to their engine rooms. Four heavy cruisers were gone as well. The Dauntless Fury which was one of the lucky ones had four of her standard (all of her standard she still had the two advanced reactors) Fusion reactors heavily damaged, 110 sailors died and at least 50 were wounded. The troop compartment suffered no losses.
"Have our starfury's launch, I want them to keep the enemy flights away. All our starfury's must launch now. The troop transports must be protected at all costs. When the enemy fleet in in range I want the battleships and cruisers to engage with support from their star fury screen. The troop transport starfury's are to stay near their transports and keep the ship safe. Have the cotton tenders begin repairs on the least damaged ships. The rest will have to be towed back to the Indra System. I want the heavy cruisers as local fire support for the transports. We have to protect them. " he told the other admirals on his screen."We will only conduct ground offenses when the enemy is destroyed in the Glaucus System."
