General Sneer sat at the confrence table and wanted to strangle someone. He was furious that his planned had worked but he never really counted on one of his own people telling them where the ARM base of operations was. General Sneer an ex Army General was trying to make the case for himself to stay and fight the forces that would soon be in this system however he knew that what he had to do was far more important.
"Admiral Hanz are you sure this is for the best?" he asked the admiral at the far end of the table. "General Sneer, I will not lie to you sir, I believe what your mission is far more important then trying to defend aganist the Navy. We will delay them as long as we can while you escape." he said. The plan was simple enough, take five of the Battleships that were in the local ARM fleet and go towards the close warp point. Intel sugested they had three weeks before the Special Drop Corps would come to the planet. And the ARM was the only one who knew about the closed warp point, trying to find a closed warp point with a survey fleet could take years and years were what General Sneer would need if he was trying to find the portal that his wife shared with him...and unleash the worst nightmare upon Human Corporation .
"So please explain to me again your battle plan Admiral Hanz." General Sneer said and the others at the end of the table looked at him. "Yes. Our plan is two fold. When they make transit from the warp point and go past our two forts guarding it and when we see enough troop transports behind the rest of the fleet both of those forts will explode via nuclear weapons. Each station has at least ten remote controlled nuclear weapons. Our projections state that on maximum at least 10 of those troop transports will be destroyed and at least five seriously damaged. The lowest show at least two destroyed and three damaged. Now, when their fleet come into the range of our fleet, we will try to hold them off for as long as possible. Our star fury pilots will commit kamakazi attacks on their starships mainly heading towards the troop transports. However we will eventually loose this battle and we will do everything we can to delay the enemey from commencing landing operations." he said
General Sneer shook his head, he knew the defence was not gojng to hold them off but it was the only one that would maximize the ten starships they did have. After Admiral Hanz stated this he then sat down. "General Lucas, what are your plans of operations?" Sneer said to General Lucas who was up till now silent. "We know we cannot hold out however we will make the invaders pay. Around each of our major population centers we have placed anti orbital and anti air weapons. The Anti orbital weapons will wreak havoc among the starships in orbit and they won't be able to stay in orbit for long if they intend to launc their pay loads via drop pods. And if they decide to come in via shuttle then the anti air will take care of that. So they have to decide: To drop via shuttle or via pod. It's their choice. The enemey will destroy those defences. Our infantry garrisons are strongest around air fields and anti orbital weapon emplacements. What we have in armor is located in the towns and the capital. The ARM infantry forces although lightly equipped can wreak havoc on anyone that tries to fight them. We can hold out for at least a month but other then that we don't have much. We do not know how large the invasion force is, we are estimating at least 100,000." he said.
General Sneer nodded and nodded some more. "It's decided then. Sisyphus must be sacrificed We will fight the invaders to the last drop of blood. No quarter must be given, I must have the time to find the portal and release the Dark Ones if we are to ever destroy Human Corporation." Sneer said.
