Alright so I have started to think of making a test of sorts in the form of a different way to do battles of course this will be on a squad basis if even that much depending on what I deem best. Here's the idea.
Large map
Now this will most likely be confusing to most of you but I will give you a long explanation on how this is going to work, and for this I am going to use my friend Friedrich.
Hello from Friedrich
Say Hi to Friedrich he is marked as a blue dot and is currently at full health and a happy soldier for simplicity we'll say that he is just standard has a carbine and an armour like everyone else. Now the job for Friedrich is to decide what to do he has been given a mission such as
Now that is an OPORD and will also be made for the main mission which I will make a bit longer.
Alright back to things now we are going to show you a few different actions
Actions
Movement will always be marked with a black line although it doesn't need to be straight
Shooting always need to be a straight line as a bullet doesn't change direction mid-air and is always marked with red
Circle's with nothing in them are grenades colour may vary depending on the area
Vehicle movement is usually with blue lines.
...
Now to the battle. In this case our player Friedrich will make a post which is explaining what he will do
He will then put up a map of the movement he does as follows
Movement
New position
Clean map
Clean map is for making stuff easier for me and as you might notice out in the right corner there is now a signature explanation on what everything means that would also be preferred that would be done on the appropriate place on the map. Now from this information the battle admin (in this case me) will give an explaination on what happens.
We will now give them names to make an example.
Sgt. Friedrich
PFC. Jonas
PFC. Pedro
PFC. Quinn
Morale: Fine
Enemy Sgt.
Enemy Rifleman.
Enemy Rifleman.
Morale: Moderate
Here I will usually give a description fitting what is done.
-Sgt. Friedrich and his fireteam moved through the darkness and up to the low wall without being fired upon by the enemy.
-The enemy had trouble seeing anything in the darkness due to lack of equipment and not being very aware on their surroundings. Now this is what a standard admin post would look like now if there are more people all the players will write first in a posting order then I will make one of these so the map can get a bit busy but we'll see =)
Friedrich writes again.
Again he is going to put in maps
Firing
Clean map
Sgt. Friedrich
PFC. Jonas
PFC. Pedro - Wounded
PFC. Quinn
Morale: Fine
Enemy Sgt - Dead
Enemy Rifleman - Wounded
Enemy Rifleman - Pinned
Morale: Bad
Here I will usually give a description fitting what is done.
-Sgt. Friedrich and his fireteam started opening fire on the enemy and catching them by surprise before they could run for cover.
-PFC Pedro was hit in the shoulder by a high calibre and is now bleeding. will need medical attention
-Enemy Rifleman got hit before being able to react and got shot in the chest and is bleeding while screaming in pain.
-Enemy Sgt also got hit before he could react the overwhelming fire power killing him near instantly.
-2nd Enemy Rifleman was lucky enough to duck for cover at the right moment but is now keeping his head low due to enemy fire.
Admin mapWhen stuff like this happens the admin while also post a mod in this case as you might notice there's an X over the dead sergeant and a diagonal line over the wounded soldiers and a straight line through the pinned down soldier. These is used so that players know which of them are wounded or otherwise affected.
Wounds left untreated depending on severity can result in death. Patching up wounds are either done by a medic or one of the troopers where the person writes what he does to the wound and then the admin judges how well patched up the wound is depending on the quality of the post.
And at no point what so ever are you allowed to write what happens to the enemy as you can't write in your post i.e "Friedrich looked at his men when they got into position before ordering them over the radio "fire at will". As the men started to open fire towards the enemies they could see through the windows while he watched the shots tear through the enemy and killing them instantly.". That is much job to write that.
Although after the admin post you can write something about it such as i.e "He was satisfied with seeing that the bullets his men had fired hit the enemy as one of them fell down like a sack of potatoes and he could hear the scream of pain from inside the building. "
I hope this covers it if any ideas or question don't hesitate to ask
