After eating, Berlioz had headed back to his bunk to grab a small duffel bag full of gym clothes and wash items for afterwards. The walk to the workout facility wasn't as long as he had anticipated and he quickly found an empty locker and began changing. The sheer size was the first thing that struck him, the last ship he was deployed on was no-way near this size so he took a few moments to see what was on offer. There was an entire running circuit around what looked like a large variety of exercise machines in the center.
There was a considerable number of people jogging on the path, at least 50+ in small groups or pairs, one or two people running on their own. While there were also a good number of people on the running machines, in his experience the people on the machines were the ones who were less inclined to attempt to start up a conversation during a workout session. Taking a minute or so to familiarize himself with the machine he started a slow uphill jog for around 20 minutes. Once that was over the machine lowered down to almost flat and sped up so he was now in a full run, not quite sprinting but definitely covering ground at speed.
Half an hour later Berlioz had worked up a good sweat and could feel everything beginning to ache. It was there he called it and turned the machine off, as expected no one had said anything to him during his running and that was just what he had wanted. He could see where Lt.Hobbar was coming from regarding that. Stepping off he looked around at what there was to do next, bench pressing weights was all very good and all but it didn't exactly help him in other areas. He wondered if there were any instructors around he could spar with, or anyone trained in CQC really...

Zhour sat down for at least ten minutes. Sweat pouring out from his body, it dripped slowly. He breathed rapidly catching his breath. That last boxing match with an ensign had proven to be good for him. The ensign hadn't practiced either in a long time or was only doing it to impress his friends. Either way, Zhour won. He was on the far end of the exercise room, far in the back. Away from all the machines were twelve rings for fighting of some sort. Not the mats like they had on the battleships or destroyers, but full rings. Anyone could go inside and fight, it wasn't regulated. Cameras were in the room in case some dumbass decided to frame another person but that was rare. Well except on the S.S. starships, which always had disciplinary problems one way or another. Looking to his left he saw that no one was around his ring. The opponent had left his head down shaking. Looking at the other rings he saw that only a few of them were occupied with people.
What was it with people anyways? Always wanting to get in your business and he just hated it. Zhour had almost always been a loner his entire life. He didn't hate people he just hated it when they wouldn't stop pestering him for something stupid. Like asking where the quarters were. If you didn't know where your own quarters were then something must be wrong with you. Either you were drunk or a new person to the starship. Anywhere else and there was something wrong with you. He got up out of the chair and went back out of the ring. He opened his personal bag and grabbed a quick drink of Zulafe. Zulafe was a special drink that was only created on Gorbi in the South Draconis star system. It had a high rate of energy and was excellent at keeping one hydrated. The only catch was how much one had to pay for it. 354 credits. Luckily it was a 6 liter drink. But still it was expensive stuff. He took another sip and rubbed his eyes. Unless someone wanted to fight then he'd be heading off to shower. It was 1432 hours and he'd been here since 0900.

Having spent a little time looking, he found someone who appeared to be eying up the fighting rings slightly further away. Slightly shorter than himself sporting jet black hair, he was sat not too far away. His build gave the impression that he wasn't exactly to be taken lightly and that perked Berlioz's interest further. Now this guy could be interesting, he thought. The way he was sat further away from the others in the facility gave him the impression that like himself, he wasn't here to be disturbed. But if that disruption was an offer?
Deciding to strike while the iron was hot, he left the machines behind and walked directly towards the man sitting down. He was drinking what appeared to be a bottle of drink, but as to what it was he hadn't a clue. He stopped a few feet away, catching the man's attention quickly. "Care for a round in a ring?" He asked trying to sound as neutral as possible. No names, no small talk, that was clearly not what either of them came here for. However even anti social people need to talk to get messages across and the like, this was one such message.

Zhour looked up when he heard the voice. He was short and to the point. Not like that obnoxious idiot who gloated to his friends about how tough he was. He didn't seem to be in love with himself so that was good. Usually, Zhour practiced his Jujitsu but he didn't feel like he wanted to practice that today. He felt like boxing. And he was a very good and athletic boxer. Slowly, Wei stood up and took a mouth guard out for himself. That and a piece of bright red head gear were the only things he had with him. He practiced his boxing with his bare knuckles. It never made sense to him why people put on those large gloves. Then what was the point of trying to hit someone? He understood the head gear, but the gloves were just ridiculous to him.
He nodded his head toward the ring and climbed in over the ropes to get inside. The air was hot due to the maintenance people working on the central air on this part of the starship. For some reason it had broken...and only a few people decided to work out when it was this hot. But Wei didn't mind in fact to him it selected out those who were resistant to the elements. Hopefully this new comer wasn't as weak as his previous opponent. He didn't know who would win, all he really cared about was a good fight right now.

Berlioz watched as he pulled out the headgear and mouth guard, well that's definitely a boxing head-guard but he doesn't seem to have any gloves. Bare knuckle boxing maybe? This will be very interesting. He walked over to his own bag a short distance away and retrieved his own battered black headgear and clear mouth guard. It had to be at least 4 years old at this point and have several hundred hours of use, it had definitely paid off its price by a considerable margin. The silent nod that his now opponent had given him was more than enough to confirm that this guy probably was to be taken seriously, and Berlioz liked that, far too many people saw physical contact sport like boxing or martial arts or even military CQC training as a way to show off, to prove to everyone else how much better they were. In his mind, it was a way of improving your chances of survival.
At least if they were boxing there were rules, guidelines you had to follow. If this was just the usual fight for practice, Berlioz didn't fight fair and that was the best way about it. When your life is on the line you think the other guy is gonna give a second though where your foot placement is? If you're allowed to strike below the belt? If you fall down that you can get back up? Of course not, you hit them where it hurts and you bring them down as fast as possible and if you happen to break several things along the way then all the better. Obviously during practice, breaking your opponents arm in two places is somewhat frowned upon, doesn't mean you can't send some cocky asshole crawling home with a concussion and a bloody nose.
He climbed into the ring and moved to a corner opposite his opponent, the heat suddenly becoming noticeable, he knew that once this fight started though that a little bit of warmth would be the last of his worries. Tucking the short pieces of hair that were poking out from under the front of his head piece, he brought his shoulders in and his arms up. In some saddening way, Berlioz knew that a part of him was looking forward to this.

Deciding that as he knew absolutely nothing about this guy diving straight in would probably result in things being a little more unfavourable on his side. Testing the waters and seeing just what he got seemed like the more logical choice. Berlioz shifted to his right slowly, trying to get his opponent to back out of the corner, if there was to be any decent fighting then having one guy pinned into a corner for the entire thing wasn't the way to go about it. Ever slowly and with as much thought in every move, he shifted round the ring.
What better way to kick this off than with a nice simple jab and cross. A basic move to begin establishing just how good this guy was, it did feel rather odd not knowing his name but at least they were on even terms, barely knowing each other to start with. Berlioz moved right up to his opponent, and the moment he struck out with his left arm, aiming for the centre of mass, as soon as it connected he pulled back and lashed out with the right cross.

Zhour watched his opponent with large eyes. Every move he was making, Zhour saw it all. He could tell that his opponent didn't want to go straight for the killing blow but rather test the waters. That was all fine to him. Besides he had some respect for people like that, unlike his previous opponent who just came at him without even thinking. However this opponent was cautious almost afraid to fight. No not afraid to fight, he was just trying to feel his opponent out. When the opponent tried to hit Zhour in the mid section, he allowed it. Trying to lure your opponent in was always good, make him feel like he's in control. The jab wasn't anything hard on him. And another jab from his left hand. So far so good, Zhour liked it. He had a complex plan in his mind and hopefully it'd pay off. He walked forward, trying to steer his opponent out into the open away from the corner that was behind Zhour.
While the advantage was to him currently with him being close to the corner it was too soon to do something as brazen as a lure. As he herded his opponent into the open, Wei gave four short jabs. One jab from his right arm was to the opponent's mid section, while the other was to his chest. He followed up with another two , this time aiming for the left shoulder and then following that move with hitting the opponent again in the abdomen. After this little maneuver than Zhour would have to put another part of his plan into action.

The cross certainly connected but his opponent was completely unfazed, on the other hand it did achieve the result of him moving out of the corner. So he can take a hit and is now going where I wanted him, not that it was any tactical advantage. They both slowly moved around each other, drifting towards the center of the ring. That was when he caught a shot to the stomach out of nowhere, the sheer force shunting him back somewhat, another blow followed it a split second to the chest, crashing painfully into his sternum.
Then the training kicked in, he as fast as possible took a single step back so the third jab going for his left shoulder barely felt flesh and he lashed out with a right hook into the inside of his opponent's right elbow with as much force as possible without dislocating the joint, he needed to remove as many ways to get injured as possible. The moment he struck out with his right arm and felt it impact with the elbow he drew his right side in and launched a left uppercut into the extended ribs of his opponent.
