Anniversary Awards

With founding day coming up it's time to reflect on what has accomplished. Back in 2009 a friend from another RPG site started "Grey Knights" and had no plotline. So he asked me to write it for him. The first mission was never completed and the site quickly died because he left. Then in 2010 a friend of mine suggest we revive it on Proboards. I knew two other admins and I gave them the plotline.

They told me to scale back what I had written and I did, so we tried to do the first mission. But sadly everyone rage quit because of life. I only had one other site supporter who helped me out, you know him as Vinigan. One of the other supports that I got was Godfred, who recommended Amberson as a graphics admin since I'm an idiot when it comes to writing board and making things look pretty.

So the three of us created a new site but this time with a outlined and very detailed plot. Act I is half way done with Act 2 to shortly follow. I have split up Act 3 into two parts since it was too large. Act 4 will be larger then the previous 3 with Act 4 ending in a climatic battle to save the universe from a evil that the entire galaxy must confront or be extinguished forever.

The following months have been good so far since I have new members. And I hope you all like the plotline so far. Of course there are some nods to other sci fi's in this original storyline: First and foremost is Babylon 5 followed by Wells, Heinlein, Weyland-Yutani, Umbrella, Honor Harrington, Starcraft, Halo, Mass Effect, Red Faction, Firefly are just a few that have influenced my storyline and characters.

To celebrate this achievement, a award system will be worked out with who got the most nods in the last question. That individual will get: Noticed by me and given the option of a mission that they can create or a character that he or she wishes to use in any way they choose.

Somewhere underneath the ice of Antarctica lies a secret base that is reserved for all the admin meetings. The room is quite large with a large round table, screens on all the walls with different scenes from the rpg, and a large holographic display of Vinigan looms over everyone

Trooper: "Alright so we're all agreed then that we should give out the awards?"

Amberson: "Well no one posted back, so technically we can't give an award."

Vinigan: "That doesn't mean that we don't care about the members. What were you thinking anyways Trooper?"

Trooper: "Well....here's what I was thinking, no one get's an award so that way no one's feelings are hurt. Besides I think we all knew who would of won in the end eh?"

Amberson: "Oh please. You hate awards!"

Vinigan:"And here we go again. Can't you two ever get along?"

Trooper&Amberson: "NO!"

Trooper: "Besides, it's not like we're going to actually get along anyways, just deal with it."

Vinigan: "Well fine then. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to make some Smørrebrød."

Trooper: "Hey, can you make me some of that too? I'd like to try Finnish food!"

As Vinigan leaves the room he gives, Trooper the finger and says "I'm Danish!"

Trooper: "Same thing! Wait right?" looks at Amberson who shakes her head.

Hello and welcome to the award ceremony! Sadly no one ever did care to vote, that's understandable because of real life. I'm trying to assume what everyone is generally thinking

Favorite Part of the storyline so far: The mystery surrounding VL-624. Why are these creatures attacking the colony? What do they want? Why am I asking you all of these questions?!

Who could become a better character: I think Silva needs improvement, we've only seen a little of him.

Who is your favorite character: Victor Reinhardt. Admit it, even though he's part of the SS. Something inside you just screams "I want that outfit now!" Good luck finding Jack Boots to go along with that outfit

Funniest Moment: John crashing the sparrow. It was kinda funny ;D

What scene surprised you: How fast medics are in combat while under machine gun fire

Vinigan: Oh no don’t tell me…it’s time for those stupid award ceremony and anniversary
Amberson: Do you think anyone even reads it? Last time NO ONE read it!
Lamond: I wasn’t around for that so cheerio

Lamond: Yes…..why yes I did, if you’d like I can also do an Irishman
Vinigan: Umm no thanks, if you did that than Hobbar’d be obssed with them like he is currently with Russia
Amberson: He’s obsessed with Russia?
Vinigan: Yup he spams our chats with Soviet style music, he tried to listening to music from Denmark but he didn’t like it.
Hobbar: Can we just get on with the anniversary?
Vinigan: Of course you can…granted you don’t spam it with that song..what’s it called?
Hobbar: “Ohe on the Road!” is the one your thinking of silly Danish
Vinigan: I’m a Dane..not a Danish
Hobbar: Same thing, except your not food.
Amberson: How the hell did I even end up here?!

Men, women. Special Security forces, Republican soldiers and Drop Corp troopers I welcome you all to the second anniversary of our beloved board. As you all know I’m very busy with college and friends. But when I have the time I am rewriting scenes or battles in my head, and deciding who will die. Muahahha ahahha ahahaha! This shouldn’t alarm any of you…yet. This year we finally finished Act I ! My lord I’d never in a million years think we’d EVER get past it. I know we only have a few active members. But for all of you just dying to know what ACT II is about…well I’d tell you and then take you to a SSI person to lock you up so no one will ever know what was said.

I believe I went over how the board came to be last year, but I realized I actually left some details out of how the story got to be where we are today. In 2009 as you all know a member of one of the old RPG sites I was on asked me to join his. He knew that I was a history major and knew lots of stories. So the basic plotline for his was basically a large human civil war. He wanted something like the ODST’s which I kept. But he didn’t want to have a halo. This is where General Sneer was thought up of. Originally the basic plot was the general went rouge because of taxation in the outer colonies who were not being listened to by the government . Then one of the old admins suggested I give it a twist: The general was actually working for something non human. That idea never got finished because it shut down shortly there after.

The backstory was written during that time and I looked around at many science fiction films, and books. And I asked “What hasn’t been done?” So as I did I realized something: It was usually some large alien force that came out of the blue destroying only humanity or just civilizations. I then decided to take it up a notch and said to myself “Wait….what if something is unleashed instead? That’s never been done.” I’m not giving up that much and as far as you know the aliens are unleashed already.


Currently I’ve been trying to go over in my head about the science of the universe…but well. I’m a historian not a scientist so I’ll try my best at it. The one person who actually really inspired me to write was the author Ian Douglas who is the author of the Intergalactic Marine series. Book one is Semper Mars if you are interested. I loved his universe, how unknown it was and the mysteries it held. That is what I am modeling this after. Of course he’s not that well known of an author, he’s only known for the intergalactic Marine series which is 9 books in total. About 350 pages each, not a bad read.

3. Your on a public transit train in the city of Plauid, Agora continent, Mordia. The train is going to the transit station and as it approaches a large explosion erupts from the station. The train screeches to a halt with many citizens getting injured. As the doors open you see fourteen ARM terrorists in full body armor taking out only the SS personnel who were getting off in the train in front of you. Your still dazed and have small injuries from the blast but your ok and can fight.  Luckily for you you just came back from the frontline and are also in armor.  The city is under siege from alien forces Who did you bring along with you , what do you have on your person. As you and your friend emerge outside, a ARM trooper goes down.

 You look to the right and almost can make out an outline of someone or something. What do you do? Do you concentrate on killing the ARM troopers with the aid of this mysterious figure OR Do you instead kill the mysterious figure not knowing what he or it is capable of while allowing the ARM to shoot at the SS personnel? Back up is fifteen minutes away you and your friend have to resolve the situation as wounded civilians run around you in the chaos.

First off Happy Third Year anniversary everyone ? I know it’s been quite the ride this past year, completing the first campaign and gearing up for Act II which we are about to enter if we can ever make planetfall to New Saigon on VL-624. Lots of things have been happening in our real lives which meant that we have had a slow board this year. No worries though guys and gals as real life comes first. Usually you would get the wall of text treatment but I am very busy the moment. Anywho here are the questions for this year.

Greetings one and all to the third anniversary announcement. Normally I’d go on and on but this moment in time, I’m actually not feeling well, I’m deeply depressed over something in my personal life. I would write so much more but I just don't feel like it at the moment. So let’s get going everyone


1. What surprised you most about the board this year with the story?
“Seeing the two Russians dance” This was awkwardly enough the most response I got. I am surprised that no one said anything about the S.S. and Human Corporation trying to cover up New Saigon
2. Which character has grown this year?
“Jorge Silva” This was also a surprising answer to me as I’ve been more focused on Hobbar’s character.

“I grab the rocket launcher and go out in a blaze of glory” That was the most surprising response, because it was so dang short.
