Name:} Joshua Kennedy
Rank:}Corporal
Assignment:} Infantryman
Section:} 1st Fireteam, 1st Squad
Age: 23
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 156 lbs
Years of service: 2 years
Injuries received in the line of duty: Nothing more than a couple scratches.
Character's Kit:
M27A1 Carbine (Joshua enjoyed its compact grip)
A21 Tactical "Marauder" Armor
M1 Personal Defense Weapon (For good measure)
Frame: Joshua has a well built and well taken care of build. A natural lifter, Joshua is stronger than the average trooper. A caucasian, Joshua has short, black hair that barely touches the top of his neck and a straight nose. His eyes are dark brown.
Personality: Joshua is a friendly person by nature, and enjoys making jokes and wisecracks every now and then. He values friendship, and dislikes friendly casualties. He won't shy away from firing a shot on the battle field, usually shooting with the intent to kill. When there's nothing important going on, Joshua has the tendency to be a little "adventurous," which is his way of saying "I like to walk around or try to find something entertaining in my spare time." Of course he knows the boundaries when it comes to rules, and tries to stay out of trouble with the higher ups.
History: Joshua was born and raised in San Francisco, California on July 23rd, 3335. The youngest son in an upper-middle class family, Joshua earned a decent education through highschool. Joshua was usually seen as the "well behaved" son in his family, compared to his brother Zack. Zack never did well in school, and missed many opportunities to be a successful person. Joshua on the other hand did his part in school, earning a B average until he finally graduated. When highschool ended for Joshua, he didn't know what to do with his life. At 18 he applied for college, but was denied his choice because of the massive competition. Discouraged by his denial, he found the UCHD military, and enlisted when he turned 20 in an attempt to escape the guilt. From that point forward Joshua was shipped off to Sanctuary, where he would train for the next six months. Though boot camp was a struggle, he overcame it along with many others. After boot camp Joshua was stationed aboard the Ascension as a private in the Righteous Fist company. As one would expect, nothing on a large scale happened very often in his service. The largest operation Joshua took part in was the pacification of a small rebel group on Titan. That day would live in Joshua's concious, the day he killed a rebel while looking him in the eye. He understood the mission, and that lethal force had been authorized, but the man he killed was close enough to him to have a conversation with. He never forgot that face, and it haunts him continuously. After two years in service he knew what he needed to keep him alive. He made many friends in the Righteous Fist, but he just got word he was being transferred to the Dauntless Fury to serve with the 32nd Honored Bothers. He's enthusiastic as ever to meet his new battle brothers, but he'll definately miss the good ol' days on the Ascension.
Sample Roleplay: (This one's an oldie I use for reference. I personally think I can do much better, but that won't stop me from posting this thing. Anyway, its from Issuing Orders.)
Joshua sat and watched as the men on the range fired away at their targets. He mainly focused on the privates rather than the NCOs, mainly because he already knew what most higher ranks were capable of, he'd rather see what the rookies could do. One of the privates caught Josh's attention. He was aiming his rifle down range, like everybody else, but something about him just made Joshua decide to check him out. Holding his M1, the young private slowly squeezed the trigger on his weapon. The muzzle of the weapon erupted with fire as the bullet flew towards it's target. The bullet struck the target in the arm. The private moaned at his shot, and aimed at his target again. This time the shot flew off into the distance. Joshua walked up to the young man.
"Morning, private."
The young private looked up at Joshua, "Morning sir."
"Where are you trying to hit that target?"
"Heart, sir."
"The heart, eh?"
"Sir."
"Try again, but this time keep your arm firm."
"Um, that's what I'm trying to do sir."
"Don't lock out your arm to aim," Joshua picked up his M1 to show the private how to hold the weapon for best performance, "Hold it like this."
"Alright sir."
"Try making that shot again."
"I'll try, sir."
"Call me Josh."
"Alright, Josh, my name is private Edwards."
"Alright, make the shot Ed." Joshua stood back as Edwards shot another round at the target. It hit the target about 15 centimeters away from the heart.
"Nice shot, keep that up, alright?"
Yes sir, thank you sir. By the way, um, Josh was it? Do you have any tips for a rookie?"
"Just keep your head low and listen to your commanding officer. Do just that and you'll live." Joshua walked up to a box and sat down on it, smiling.
