Ted was born to Robert and Karen Manning on the planet Titan at
the military hospital his father worked at. Growing up in a military family wasn't the easiest life for Ted but it was the life his father wanted for him so at the age of eleven he went off to a military school on Mars. Quickly Ted rose to top in his class as he closed in on his final years at the school but the day after his seventeenth birthday he received horrible news from home.
While away on deployment Ted's father was killed when his FOB (Forward Operating Base) was obliterated by a massive bomb. It was one of the biggest terror attacks on military personnel to date and it made all the major news networks within hours but Ted had no idea his father was stationed their, planet side. He believed his dad was safe upon a medical transport ship and this angered him. Ted left at the end of the week back for Titan for the funeral and reading of the will, his academics put on hold.
At his father's funeral he was handed the flag of the UCR as his mother wept from the comfort of her home, the pain was so terrible she couldn't even be at the funeral. Later that day he went to his father's attorney and was read the will which left him with nothing and his mother everything. A note was handed to him before he left and reading it he was drawn to tears. His father wrote that a real man starts with nothing and ends with everything. This motivated Ted to continue his studies and by his Eighteenth birthday he graduated for his military academy.
Upon graduated he enlisted in the UCHD military and after completing basic training as the second highest in his class he moved on to One School Unit Training and began studies to be a combat medic. After seven months he graduated from OSUT and was sent to his first line unit. After serving six his luck finally ran out during a heavy engagement when he pulled a man from the wreckage of a vehicle and exposed himself to fire as he rushed to a transport ship to evac him out; however, he was shot twice after dropping the man off and quickly evacuated off planet.
After recovering and finding out his unit was disbanded he had the option to transfer or go to another school which he took up immediately after passing his physical requirements. From their he went to Drop School. Upon completing the school with high scores he was sent to 29th Special Drop Corp Regiment and served three more years. After his enlistment was up he reenlisted and was transferred to The Honored Brothers, the unit his father was a doctor for.
Sample Roleplay:
The slide on his weapon snapped back and stayed in place, "Changing mags, cover me!" he yelled to his partner who was hurling lead equally down range at the targets. Evac was only minutes away and Ted along with his partner James Gofung was covering the site of an ambush so the wounded could be extracted. They already had applied to required bandages and were now waiting for the ship to land.
"There, over there!" James shouted pointing to Manning's three o' clock. The medical transport was landing, kicking up dust as the back hatch opened. More rounds pinged off the overturned vehicle as the battle continued.
"let's move!" Ted yelled as he slung his rifle, dipped low and picked up the wounded who screamed in pain, "I know, buddy, but were almost home."
More rounds snapped and cracked around him as he neared the entrance to the ship and as he arrived he the medics on board grabbed the man and took it from their. Ted turned and brought his rifle back around and into his hands but as his grip tightened around the handle he felt a hard punch in his upper torso. The wind left his lungs and his eyes widened as he gasped for breath. He knew he had been shot. Before he could even assess the situation; though, another round slammed into his thigh. He immediately felt his leg go numb and his body slumped to the ground.
James finally reached the ramp and grabbed onto the back of Ted's body armor and smiled, 'I got you, man, you're going to be alright."
