" Dr. Guntern said to the class. Jorge got up out of his seat and walked down the main row that lead to the main exit door. "Jorge, jorge!" someone said behind him. Looking back, he saw his friend Luke going through people. Pushing them aside just to get to Jorge. "Oh come on Luke for the last time I'm not gonna do it." he said as look walked up to him. "Come on man, it's just for fun! Besides I did it when I was your age." he said. He was referring to a dare that most people in the college did, try to eat a entire block of cheese, and drink a two gallons of milk..and not throw up for forty eight hours. It was a really stupid tradition.

"I'm not gonna do it. Besides no one can do it you always throw up." he told Luke as they walked out into the hallway. "Oh alright...say your going to that football game tomorrow night right?" he said. "Yeah, I have to go it's my team dumbass!" Jorge said jokingly. "Hey I'll catch ya later ok? Gotta go to biology!" Luke said as he took off.

Arriving at his Dorm a few hours later, Jorge threw his backpack on the ground. The dorm he rented was for one person only, but it was an ok dorm. It was very clean and fit. There was a bed/couch on the far side of the dorm, a hologram projected television situated on the wall facing the bed. There was a small kitchen with a stove, oven and microwave. He went towards his hall closet and started to change for the game. "Attention citizen! Attention citizen! Attention citizen!" a soothing male voice said in the apartment. Putting on his shirt, Jorge turned his gaze to the hologram television. Walking towards it, he saw a INS news ancor in a yellow suit. She was blonde and had green eyes, however a scrolling bar on the bottom stated for students to stay in doors. "We have just learned of a disease that has started to spread over Hadamard."


Walking closer to the hologram he wondered what kind of disease. "Citizens are urged to stay in doors, as this is an airborne virus. No name for the mysterious virus has emerged however medical staff are calling this Jahul Virus. Jahul virus is very contagious. Stay in doors, do not go outside until instructed by your local authorities. If someone comes to your place of residence please contact your local health clinic. Only those wearing hazmat material can be outside at this moment. The Special Drop Corps is currently enforcing a curfew. Anyone outside after five o clock will be arrested. Again this is for your own safety. If you do require assistance please call your local health clinic. "


The news then showed the other parts of the planet. If the entire planet was infected with this disease...how long would it last? He saw his home town new madrid on the screen. It showed health officials in hazmat suits carrying people on stretchers into ambulances. A S.D.C. tooper was seen wearing medical armor. "Please stay inside." the anhcor instructed. As Jorge continued to watch the screen, he saw one of his sisters Oliva being carried on a stretcher. His eyes started to swell up. How could he go and see her?

A large knock came on the door. "Mr. Silva! Mr. Silva!" another large knock could be heard against the door. Laying on his mattress, Silva slowly opened his eyes. What the hell? It was four thirty in the morning? Who would want to come and see him at this hour, everyone in the apartment block was asleep. He heard more knocking. "Alright, I'm up." he said sitting up and put his feet on the floor. More knocking followed. "Mr. Silva!" He yelled towards the door "Yeah yeah yeah. I'm up!" getting up, he went towards his door and looked through the peep hole. He saw two people in hazmat suits and they were carrying rifles with them. "What do you want?" he yelled through the door. "Mr. Silva, your family member Oliva Silva has made a request for you to come and see her. We are to take you to the space port where you will board a jet and land in New Madrid."


He was still looking through the peep hole. "How do I know your not someone here to rob me? I wanna know who you are." he said. "We're with the Corps that has been deployed to this part of the city. Our orders are not only for you but for others as well here on campus. We will now open the door to your apartment." they said. Wait the disease was airborne! If he opened the door then he'd let the disease inside! "Wait don't open the door-" but it was too late as the door slid open. Jorge took a few steps back and started to head towards the closet. Closing the door behind them. One of them took off the masks, the person underneath looked like he was a little older then Jorge. "Relax Mr. Silva, your apartment is not contaminated. Before coming to this complex we placed a protective plastic barrier to the entrances and exits of the complex. We made sure it was deemed safe to enter. However, you will have to wear a suit. Catching the Jahul virus is very easy breathing the air." the other figure walked up to him and handed Jorge a very large suit.


He grabbed the suit and gave them a funny look. "I'll put this on if it means that I can see my sister." he told them. The suit was pure white and he started to put it on. The suit was not as heavy as he had feared. Putting on the head piece he sealed it and looked outside the very now narrow view of the faceplate. "I'm ready. Can I take anything with me?" he asked them. "No unfortunately we don't have the time to do that. When someone contacts this disease, they die within twenty four hours. She only has fourteen more hours to live. Three of those will be spent getting you to the space port, flying to New Madrid. So by the time you reach her you'll only have thirteen hours to spend time with her. The reason it will take so long is because of looting by local residents." the one without the headpiece said. He put on his gear and opened the door. The three of them walked out into the hallway, there were other people in hazmat suits as well being escorted out of the building.


"So uh what kind of rifle is that?" Silva asked one of them. "It's a carbine. Don't worry about the rifle Mr. Silva." he realized that maybe the people who were escorting him were not the best people to have a conversation with. As they exited the building he saw a large plastic tube extending outside with soldiers outside the tube opening it for one person at a time. One of the soldiers got in front of Silva and walked through before the door closed. "Stop." a soldier outside said. One of them then opened the door. "Walk through the opening." he walked through the opening, as he did he saw that it was still dark outside. Except for the large column in front of him.

It was a large column of Lion Armored Personal Vehicles that were being loaded with civilians and only civilians. Soldiers stood outside helping people into the troop compartment. Standing there he started to walk towards one but was stopped by a soldier. "Your not boarding this one. Go to that one." he pointed towards one that was being loaded. Two soldiers in hazmat suits were loading people on. He walked on over towards the one that the soldier had pointed to. As he got closer his heart raced. In a few hours, Oliva would die. One of the soldiers stopped him. "Identification please." he said. Silva held out his arm for a scanner. Each person had a chip that identified who they were, age, height, weight, birthday, just standard information. "Ok get on board." he said and another soldier grabbed his hand gently and took him on board. The APC was packed, and he had the honor of having the last seat. Sitting down he looked at the others. He couldn't tell who was who anyways. They all probably had family members who were dying from this disease.


The APC door soon closed and started to move.
