The ready room was very quiet as troopers settled down into the room. The room was large enough to fit the entire company, there were rows upon rows of chairs, which faced a small podium where Captain Todd Jones was standing. Behind Jones was a large hologram of the planet. "Good morning Kilo company." he said in an iron voice. "GOOD MORNING CAPTAIN!" the company responded in unison, who were at the moment were standing. "Be seated." he said, and then the room turned dark. "As you already know, Seventh Fleet is currently in orbit around the planet Sisyphus. They are finishing off what little remains of the ARM fleet. However we aren't concerned with what the navy is doing. We're about to hit the dirt. Special Drop Corps is going to create landing zones from which Special Security and the Republican Army can then use to move in. A little knowledge of the planet first. "

"Twenty years ago, Sisiphus was selected as a planet for colonization. The planet had at least 30,000 colonists scattered and lived in multiple towns. At first it went well, even though the planet was negative 10 degrees on average there were many business's set up, schools, basic infrastructure. However when the recession hit twenty years ago, many investors pulled the plug and many colonists left. The settlements were left intact. When rouge army General Sneer founded the ARM he decided it'd be a perfect place to set up his base of operations. After all few military mines would look in this system..it had been abandoned. He has turned it into a fortress people."

"We'll be dropping in two clicks south of our target. We have to secure this space port. We expect moderate resistance, the objectives are as followed. Take out the fuel lines that supply fuel to the anti orbital cannons and seize the space port." he gave different platoons their objectives. "First platoon will be tasked with first taking out the fuel dump and then seizing the control tower. We drop in half an hour, get to your pods." he said.

I. Situation
A. Enemy Forces

1. Arm Insurgent (ARM)forces have been operating in large Division sized elements around the major cities. ARM forces are not wearing regular uniforms, but it has been observed that they are generally wearing camouflaged patterned trousers and military style tactical equipment. ARM forces are seen utilizing various small arms equipment and have in their arsenal various light armored vehicles.
2. ARM forces are capable of reinforcing their lines within 6 hours of an alert from their orbital defense forces, but have a limited supply of trans orbital shuttles.
3. ARM forces are intent on defending their positions around Sisyphus.


B. Friendly Forces

1. Mission of higher headquarters: The mission for the Republican forces is to secure the star system and planet, to kill or capture most of the ARM force there.
2. Adjacent Units: Three UCDH Army Corps, one UCDH Expeditionary Corps Expeditionary Force (EEF) Special Security (SS) and local police forces (LEO) will be present in your AO. Civilians may still be present in the AO and can be identified wearing civilian clothing. UCDH forces will be wearing the standard uniform of their respective branches and LEO forces are wearing either camouflaged field utilities or dark blue/black patrol uniforms. SS forces are wearing black utility uniforms.

3. Supporting: 45 Republican Naval War Ships and 20 supporting craft, 25 SS War Ships and 15 supporting craft remain in orbit around the planet.

II. Mission
The S.D.C. will create a beach head at strategic points. We land will land near an spacefield. We have to take the spacefield from the local ARM terrorists. The mission takes place on the planet. We have to secure the airfield so the navy can start to land additional units. Who, What, Where, When, and (most importantly) Why?


III. Execution

1. Center of Gravity Land in the rural areas of the planet, as we will be landing far away from major cities
2. Critical Vulnerability. Anti air and anti orbital cannons are a major risk until we secure those elements around the landing zones
3. Exploitation Plan. Send in the company and then split up by seperate platoons to attack the numerous objectives. Destorying the pipeline will shut down the fuel needed to operate the local anti air and orbital cannons which can then be destroyed later on by the rest of the company. 1st platoon will then capture the control tower
4. Desired Endstate Total control of the space port which will be used as a fore ward base to carry out further operations.

B. Concept of the Operations
1. Scheme of Maneuver
First and second squads will advance to first destroy the pipeline that fuels the anti air and orbital cannons. Then once the pipeline is destroyed both first and second will advance across the space port and capture the control tower.

Second Squad will attach explosives to the pipeline while First squad covers them. After this both squads will capture the control tower.
D. Coordinating Instructions
When first landing, secure the immediate dropzone and then move in with the mission.

IV. Administration/Logistics (Sustainment in the Army version)
A. Administration

Follow standard 9-line medical procedure for CASEVAC/MEDEVAC
Follow standard Comm protocol for communication
Casualty evacuation will occur at the secured LZ and casualties will be sent back into orbit onboard a medical transport.

B. Logistics

Equipment will be procured 1 month in advance of D-Day. Gear deficiencies will be addressed within the allotted standby period before departure of embarkation point.
Gear deficiencies determined during transit will allocate equipment from units set to disembark troop transports in later waves. ie. 1st wave landing forces take precedence over ammunition and other essential war fighting equipment than CB units.
Once the main landing zone has been secured, CB units will land and create 3 MSRs and necessary ASRs to the forward units.
Supply runs will be conducted from the primary LZ to forward units every 2 hours or as otherwise determined by ground commanders.

Jorge's eyes snapped open when he heard the siren begin to go off. Each platoon room had it's own siren to designate which one was being called. It sounded like the platoon in here was being called and no likely the other platoons in the companies were being called. He soon got up and stretched. "Ok everyone get up, sounds like we're going to be briefed. Get dressed, I want everyone out of here in ten minutes!" he shouted in the room. He went over towards his personal locker and started to change into fresh clothes, not combat armor. Armor and weapons were stored with the master at arms secured in another part of the ship. Taking off his shirt he grabbed a fresh one and started to put the other one on. He then started to lace on his boots making sure they were tight.


He wondered where they'd be going for this mission..hopefully something more exciting then rescuing Special Security forces from ARM troopers. Knowing how far this campaign was going it wouldn't be that easy but something hard. The ARM was putting up a very hard fight at the moment. He was soon dressed and saw people still getting up, going to the restroom or getting dressed. "When your ready head on over to the ready room...the captain hates it when anyone is late." he told everyone. He wasn't trying to come across as being harsh but the captain hated it when anyone was late for a briefing.


Walking out of the room he saw that a few other people were walking down the hall towards the ready room. He didn't recognize everyone who was in the hall but only knew a few people and they were busy talking to other people. When he reached the ready room he saw that Hobbar was already there talking to the captain...who seemed upset about something. The captain was clearly mad at either Hobbar or the situation he was putting the company in and trying to explain it to Hobbar. There were many chairs in the room that numbered in at least a few hundred it was more like an auditorium if anything. It also had a stage with a podium and a large holographic computer that was behind the person who was on the stage.


He sat down waiting for the rest of the platoon to arrive. Michael nodded and started to sit down next to him. "I can already guess what is wrong...let me see we won't get any back up." Silva said. "Can it staff sergeant. You'll understand in a little while what has the captain pissed off..not that I can blame him."

As the siren sounded he tiredly got up and stretched rubbing his arm a bit, it had gotten a lot better since last and rubbed his temples before walking over to the closet and got into his clothing. He took a deep breath and sat down tying the boots before quickly getting towards the briefing room.

He was amongst the first there, being one of the people who just went there instead of small talking with everyone, of cause he was also just a bit tired having went to bed to late the night before sitting talking with some people on the ship about all sorts of stuff. Of cause some had been navy personnel but it had been amusing.

He walked into the briefing room and started chewing on one of the ends of his cigarette, not lighting it, but it was a habit, and hopefully they could get coffee or something before they had to be send out in space or what ever, hopefully it wouldn't end like last time. It had been a devastating blow to all of them, but as always the UCHD had been quick to find a few new people to put into the platoon.

He looked a bit confused around seeing nobody or having seen nobody else then people from the 32nd, either they were going on an op alone or the others had already gotten their briefing, but he never liked nobody else being there in such a large briefing room. He went down to the front rows and sat down and leant back in the chair.

He sat by his desk working on his computer with different material reading through the records of 32nd and it's mission, of cause it was a rather short one but it was still full of information. Some which he liked and a lot he disliked but it was good to see.

Somebody knocked on his door, he looked at his watch and thought it was a rather weird time for somebody to know on his door. "Enter!" he yelled looking towards the door a man entering "Uhm... The 32nd have been called to a briefing, sir" the man said. Victor got to his feet and nodded "Thank you" he said and the man closed the door and went off.

Victor closed the jacket and took on the belt over the uniform. He straightened the jacket and grabbed the cap before exiting the room and locked the door. He looked a bit around and went towards the briefing room. He walked past some people from the 32nd who was also heading to the briefing room where some of them seemed tired some seemed relaxed and some seemed in a hurry.

He pushed past a couple of soldiers and went into the briefing room where he looked around and decided to stand for now a bit in the back, of cause people would notice him and that was the point but he hoped to have his stage light at some point if not now then during the mission, he felt it would be fine for people to notice him but he could also see something funny in people not knowing him.

For now he just stood in the back watching the soldiers walking into the room sitting down, and the people already here trying to decipher them, and he was getting more glad he never became infantry or had been asked to sign up with the armoured troopers of SS, they all seemed so rugged and none of them seemed 100% up to regimental dress-code, he did ignore the fact that they had just woken up.

Mission Briefings, she hated them but that didn't mean that she was going to complain about it. No, she was just going to stand there and pay attention. The woman didn't really feel like sitting, she wasn't still enough to stay sitting for long. The problem is that they were a necessary evil to her job. The woman looked around the room. The others were already preoccupied while waiting and she was no exception, though her eyes were wandering around the room. She was counting pilots. There were still a few that were missing. If they were late.. so help them.

Lizzie shook her head slightly and leaned against the wall. She caught sight of McCowan who was also counting heads. Old habits died hard? It wouldn't the first time that her commanding officer was double checking what she did just to see if he could can her doing something wrong. He was always trying to catch her not doing her job, he never would catch her messing up intentionally. Unintentionally, like anyone, she made mistakes; she was only human after all. Her eyes glanced around once more. Still two missing..

As Hobbar sat down he seemed very troubled over what he was told by Captain Jones. "Lieutenant....are you going to tell me what's wrong. Did we get assigned some new person at the last second?" Silva asked Hobbar. "I'll tell you after the briefing...trust me you won't like it..... Dammit." he said to Silva. Jorge sighed. The rest of the company finally filed in, along with Victor Rinehardt who was sitting quietly in the back not saying a word to anyone. The door closed and the lights dimmed, and it was pitch black for only a few seconds.

The holographic image of Sisyphus suddenly appeared and was at the center of the stage. "The planet of Sisyphus has been under invasion for the past two weeks, and we have established bases of operation on the planet. The army has been taking and gaining ground along multiple highways of the planet that the ARM built while they were living there. There is a large highway that goes over this canyon."

The hologram suddenly changed the planet and zoomed in on the terrain. The terrain was a dark blue with a large yellow outline of the canyon. "This is Razor canyon one of the largest in this area of the planet, nearly four hundred miles long and half a mile wide it is a strategic asset, as long as ARM controls the major highways going over it, then they can establish choke points where the Army tries to push through. There are five bridges along the canyon, four have been destroyed by ARM through demo packs. We could go around the canyon but then that would leave us exposed. The only bridge left is in a small town called Peraia. Peraia was only one of the original five towns here built by the original colonists, before ARM took the planet. It had a population of only two hundred, but now has over five thousand occupants. The 6th Army Division has been fighting for the town for two weeks since we landed.


The 2nd brigade of the army has been fighting into the town the rest of the division has been securing areas around the town, destroying outposts, communications and the like. We have been called into help secure this town. Fourth division will land within around twenty miles of the town. Our Regiment will land just outside the town and move to take the bridge from the other side. The rest of the regiment will move to secure enemy positions. Our company will land..." The image zoomed into the town and showed friendly and enemy known positions. The map lit up and showed Kilo would land in the north west half a mile away. "We will land half a mile away from the north west. Lima and Mike Companies will land to our east and north east. We will secure our area."

The town lit up to show the area they are responsible for...."We have to take four blocks and two roads. The enemy are heavy infantry from what we have been able to tell. Then once our area is secured along with Lima and Mike we will secure the center of our area and capture the bridge. That is our primary objective. Our secondary objective is to secure two known enemy communication buildings. Mike and Kilo both have them assigned in their area of operations, platoon leaders secure them if you wish to, but remember you must take the bridge. The Army will then proceed to capture their side. We will drop in pods for this mission. Pilots you will land heavy fighting vehicles at this drop zone." he said and a area lit up north of the town a mile away. "There are no known anti aircraft weapons in this area. So you won't have trouble with that. You will also be taking wounded from both sides to get medical treatment." he said. "I almost forgot, let's give a welcome to our new liaison Lieutenant Reinhardt... of the Special Security Special Investigation and Information. He will be accompanying one of our platoons. We drop in an hour, get assembled in the hanger. Dismissed." the captain said.


Mission: Capture the town Peraia to secure a bridge

Ted walked calmly in to the briefing room wearing his battle uniform minus all of the armor, helmet, and of course his weapon. Quite murmurs echoed through the room as other soldiers from First Platoon crowded sat in wait for the briefing to begin. He nodded to a few soldiers he knew from previous missions and even shook a few hands of those he had saved. The hologram of the planet expanded and as he looked at the see through visual depiction at the front of the room his eyes lingered outside to the actual planet which the ship orbited over. It looked cold from above, it was probably even colder on the planet.

The mission was so far simply put. So simple in fact it made the nine year war vet laugh. He knew this was going to be easier said than done even if it was a simplistic invasion scheme. Cut the fuel and the resources you essentially cut off the head of the snake. Manning had no questions. It wasn't his place to ask questions. His job as a medic was simple. Follow the platoon and when someone goes down...and someone will go down....help them, heal them, or make them comfortable before they die.

The alarm inside the barracks went off. It sounded almost like someone was trying to pierce his ears as Silva suddenly realized what was going on. He hadn't been told of a mission in more than a month and the last he heard from the lieutenant is that the platoon for the moment wouldn't be expected to see action. That changed now. Quickly getting dressed he yelled. "Move move move! Get up! Head over to the briefing room!" he quickly tied his shoes. Getting outside he saw how crowded the hallway was becoming. It was probably larger than Kilo Company going in. It looked like Lima and Mike companies had also been awoken but he didn't know for sure. Alarms went off inside individual barracks for platoons. Long ago the navy decided it would be best not to awaken every single soul on the starship for combat. He had to run with the rest of the crowd because others were running in front and behind him. It only took him five minutes to get to the briefing room and he saw that it was packed full. Normally it was only Kilo that was here or one of the other companies but the room could hold more than 1000 people. He went outside and saw that at least ten other briefing rooms were being filled up. If the operation must be this large....then they must have one hell of a battle for them. He sat down quickly as he tried to find a seat, it was so crowded he couldn't tell where the lieutenant was. Somewhere in the crowd of people was Hobbar he just couldn't tell where! The small stage normally had the captain here but it was empty save for the holographic display which showed a asteroid field, that had a few circled in red. What in Jesus's name was going on?

In the main command room for the battalion, Major Lindburgh stood up straight as the camera crew worked to adjust the problem of the lens. He looked at his watch. In one hour Operation Seeker would commence. He knew it would be bloody but those installations needed to be taken from the ARM. The Navy wanted to get any intelligence it could and figure out where General Jason Sneer went since the Army hadn't found him in the defacto capital of Troy which was taken three weeks ago. Why didn't the navy spot these installations before when they scanned Sisyphus for bases. Well the entire division would find out in a few hours if Sneer was on one of those bases...or if he had truly escaped.

[Berlioz Lamond]

Berlioz shot bolt upright, the sudden alarm practically sending him into shock. Quickly regaining cognitive function he realised it was the alarm to assembly for a mission briefing, the time since his arrival having flown by so fast. He got dressed, not paying attention to the others busy fussing with their own uniforms. Getting up at 0300 wouldn't have been too much of a problem if he'd actually got some decent sleep beforehand. The sound from outside the door gave him the impression that a considerable amount of people were up and moving. Are they waking more than one platoon? Just how many men are being deployed? He finished the thought as he tied the last lace on his boots, standing up and attempting to enter the packed corridor.

In the hustle and bustle of soldiers trying to get to their respective briefing room Berlioz would never have been able to recognise anyone he knew, despite the fact that the only two people he would possibly notice were people he spoke to well over a month ago now. The walk to the Briefing Room took considerably longer than usual, not surprising what with an entire company apparently trying to manoeuvre through the barracks. He filed into the room, noticing the display at the front showing off what looked like an asteroid field. Finding a seat wasn't exactly easy but soon enough he was sat down and patiently waited for something to happen. Looking around slowly he could still hear people walking into halls like this behind him, even now he could tell this was going to be a fight he wouldn't want to remember.

Assaulting an asteroid with this many men is just plain nonsense. Someone is trying to put a show on for the higher ups and we're the expendable puppets. This sort of thinking cropped up before every mission now, 6 years of near constant deployment will grind you down. Over time Berlioz had slowly begun to lose faith in High Command, then the officers leading him into battle and eventually the point of fighting this war entirely. All that was really left was that unfortunately, he was a soldier, it was his job to fight and kill, even if he didn't believe in what he was fighting for. I wonder how many of these men will come back, I mean if we capture General Sneer, if he is there, what then? Sure he's calling the shots but if any of his sub-commanders are in anyway competent then ARM is going to remain a significant threat regardless of the outcome of this mission!

He clenched his fist and closed his eyes, trying to calm down. When he opened them again a Major had stood up while a crew worked on a camera. He really wanted this to just be over with.

Christopher woke as the alarm sounded. He rubbed his eyes slowly and as he did, the Staff Sergeant yelled at them to get up as soon as possible and get to the briefing room. Before leaving though he decided it'd be best if he went to the head. Opening the door he said "Lights" as he walked over to the mirror. The lights came on and he quickly ran a hand through his hair. It'd been nearly a month since he'd been wounded but he was better now. And he remembered what Hobbar said. Another mistake like that and instead of being wounded he might be dead, and shipped off home. Well hopefully whatever the hell was going on it'd be an easy mission. Walking out of the head he quickly got dressed and headed out the door. He wasn't expecting a crowd this large, as a matter of fact he couldn't remember a crowd of people rushing to the briefing rooms.


It was crowded and he could barely move much less see where he was really going because of how crowded it was. People going one way and he was caught in the middle. Eventually after a few minutes he spotted the briefing room and headed inside. He couldn't believe his eyes, the room was packed, it fit the entire regiment. And most of not all of them were here. He tried to find other members of the platoon but due to the loud noise of talking amongst people he couldn't see them. He looked for the obvious short Staff Sergeant Silva but couldn't find him, probably he was somewhere in the sea of faces. Reed started to find himself a seat among the crowd. Upon sitting down he saw the holographic display of what looked like an asteroid belt with red markings upon at least fourteen. Were they going to assault the asteroid field? If so why not just blow up the damn things? Unless there was some sort of important intel on the bases. Then h remembered: Scuttlebutt was that after the campaign the Republic would be sending colonists to settle on Sisyphus. The navy must want the bases to use for fuel, research and weapons stations. Otherwise why wouldn't they just blow up the bases? The navy could do it. And General Sneer hadn't been found on Sisyphus after the Army finally secured the defacto capital.

Hobbar was probably right about General Sneer , although the government never came out was to why Sneer was committing the acts of terrorism. All that was said about him was that he betrayed the army, took his own division, and killed innocent people. And of all things to be upset at, Human Corporation! The company had been existing since the 2600's. It wasn't going anywhere at the moment. The company provided jobs for billions of people within the Republic. IF Jason Sneer's wife was killed in a exploration ship as was told by the RIA than shouldn't be be mourning his wife? He sighed and decided right then and there to never get married. It drove people to do crazy things! Christopher cleared his throat was he watched for the briefing to start as people were still arriving.

After fifteen minutes, the lights dimmed for only a few seconds and the room became quiet except for the occasional cough. Suddenly the projection showed Major Lindburgh on the screen who was in battle dress . "Good morning Third Battalion. I hope everyone is rested up. I do realize it's uncommon to be awoken this early but in one hour at 0415 exactly, Operation Seeker will be launched. The ARM presence has been driven off of Sisyphus and the army has now occupied the planet. The defacto capital has been captured. However there is still an ARM presence in the system. This asteroid field has eighteen bases that the enemy is using. Preliminary scans from Naval Intelligence suggest that these bases are ports for their own navy. In addition to servicing the starships they also are mining and ore processing facilities. We will be taking one of these asteroids code named Gamma."

The holographic screen then split into two showing the major to the right and the asteroid to the left. The base was enormous. The asteroid itself was exceptionally long, it resembled a potato like appearance, and was vertical. The asteroid then lit up with red dots around it detailing information. The base itself was very hard to see from the outside. But an x ray view gave the details a trooper would need. At the very top of the facility were numerous antennas and reading equipment. Further down was a landing bay that had at least eighteen plasma turrets around it. The hologram then showed the rest of the facility.


Below the hanger bay were numerous bays for maintenance and storage. The level below were the barracks and life support systems. The level below was the command center with numerous rooms and facilities. The final level was an emergency hanger that was lightly fortified with only a few turrets. Just behind the emergency hanger were more barracks and a gravity generator.

"At 0415 the navy will send in starfury's to hopefully clear up the enemy air. The first landing will take place in the smaller hanger which is lightly defended. The Entire battalion is on the deck for this one. 3rd Regiment with 2nd to follow. will land at 0515 after navy fly boys have disabled the air presence and anti air turrets. Our objective is to get to the control level. that means coming down level by level. With 1st and 4th regiment coming from below the ARM have no where to go. Company commanders will brief you of individual objectives enroute to the asteroid.Enemy strength is one battalion. We leave in two hours. I want the regiment to be ready to drop within an hour. Dismissed " The holographic image of the Major went away only leaving the image of the asteroid....the lights came back on slowly and people began to chat with each other. Quickly it died as company commanders shouted orders "Kilo Company, grab some quick chow, in half an hour get your gear. " Captain Jones shouted as other offiers joined him. People began to head into the hallway either to their bunks to get something, mess hall or the armory.

As the hologram of the Major faded away, what he had said pretty much confirmed Berlioz's previous fears. As people clamoured around him to get some food before getting ready, he sat and thought for a second, Two entire Regiments and our Battalion just to take a single asteroid base?. He looked back up at the screen dictating the battle plan, sending Starfuries to attack AA emplacements? As if the pilots didn't have enough to handle taking out ARM's own air wing, then letting them have to deal with emplaced weapons didn't make any sense to him. Why not move the Dauntless within missile range and use the smaller plasma missiles to snipe the enemies defences from outside their range THEN send in the Starfuries to deal with ARM's air?

He knew he could say something about it to his CO, he really should say something about it, but what exactly could he do? He was just a Private, a soldier, not a strategist, even if Hobbar thought it made sense the current plan was clearly in effect. There was literally nothing he could do but grin and bear it. Someone knocked into him as they passed his seat, knocking him off his train of thought, probably for the best.

Standing up he looked around to see if Hobbar or Silva were anywhere near him. He didn't catch sight of them in the now thinning crowd, not finding himself particularly hungry he set off for the Armoury, his rifle would likely need the sight aligned and a suitable check after the trip here.

John was woken earlier than most other pilots because he was in charge of the dropships that would transport all the troopers to their objective. As he got to the briefing room, he was told that they would attack in force. The entire battallion would be attacking. At around 0300, the pilots under his command walked into his briefing room and sat down.

Alright, boys and girls. This is it, the final push till we are done with this godforsaken hell hole. Our 'friends' from the fighter department will clear the area of hostile air presence and air defense.


The grunts will be taken to a central LZ in the middle of the base, afterwhich they will capture this rock. After all grunts have boots on the ground, our duty changes to MEDEVAC and supply runs. I kown you're all aching for some action, but be careful, okay?
