Humanity had been colonizing the universe since the early 2200's. The United Colonial Republic were the remnants of the United Nations and tried to make humanity more secure then it's predecessor. The United Nations starting in the Early 2200's got enough support to start colonizing the Solar System. This was due to the Fourth World War 2190 - 2200 in which the remaining super powers: The European Union, The United States and the African Union formed an alliance together to stop China and the Middle East from trying to destroy the first lunar colony.
The war had lasted nearly ten years with battles both on Luna and the Earth. The decisive victory however came as a surprise...when the Chinese invaded the Western cost of the United States, the Middle Eastern armies were alone in trying to defend their homeland. This gave the opportunity that the alliance had been waiting for and the armies of the African Union practically walked over the Middle Eastern armies since the E.U. sent the bulk of it's forces to help the United States defend itself. With the Middle East out of the war, the People's Republic of China surrendered to the allies, even on the verge of capturing Washington D.C.
Thus when the United Colonial Republic was formed in the mid 2200's they tried their best to maintain what the U.N. created: The Office of Colonization. The Office of Colonization still existed however now it was maintained by the government and only the government. Human Corporation for all it's power grabbing within the Republic was banned from doing much when a settlement was being founded, until the colony was up and running it could not do that much. the only thing the company did provide was security for the colony which was needed dearly.
So it was strange when Kenny Shaul walked into the office of David Noal, head of colonization. "David, we have a problem." Kenny said as he sat down in Kenny's large office looking over the London skyline. David looked up from the paper work he was completing.
"What is it now? Don't tell me, we missed the quota?" he said smiling a little. "No sir, we have a problem trying to contact the colony VL-624. For the past week we have been sending them messages to get a update on the colony. The last report we got was that the head of the colony stated that she found something that would change humanity. She did not express what she did find but it left us excited. As I've said we've been trying to get into contact from the colony since last week." he said in a very worried voice.
"I knew something was going to happen, I just had a gut feeling. Could we send in someone to check them out maybe?" he said. "Well I contacted General Starlite, and he stated that at the moment he is too busy trying to get rid of the ARM. But he promised that once the conflict is over he'll send someone to check up on the colony. Which should be at least a month, two tops." he said. David nodded his head, he knew for now all they could do were to keep sending messages to the colony but other then that they would have to wait..
