"Yes Sir!" Berlioz shouted back as he started sharply pulling everyone's harnesses as he went along the row he was on, making sure none were loose or not fitted carefully. He didn't look at anyone's face, too many of them leered or glared with daggers in their eyes. They still remembered. The sound of hushed whispers was audible to him even over those who were shouting to each other. The sound of words he couldn't quite make out, he didn't even know if they were about him or not.
As he pulled on one trooper's harness he struck out and grabbed Berlioz's chest plate dragging him forwards hissing "You gonna break me like the last guy who touched you, freak?".
Berlioz wrenched himself away from the sneering face and carried on checking harnesses before he came to the last empty seat on the row next to a Demolitions Expert with the name tag Parker, who was muttering to herself about something being 'worth it'.
He strapped himself in before leaning back and closing his eyes, trying to get everyone's face out of his head.

He looked at his helmet for a moment and shrugging before placing it in his lap and just looking around the sparrow. As Hobbar cam on board and ordered some of the troopers to check everybody was strapped in he quickly checked his own being sure he was properly secured. Although he hadn't been anywhere close to his religion lately he still whispered a short prayer for the ship not to crash on their way there, although he knew there was a slim chance that a sparrow would mean bad luck three times in a row.
His concentration was interrupted as he heard a trooper say 'You gonna break me like the last guy who touched you, freak?'. Vinigan looked over and saw Williamson talking like that to Berlioz. "Hey Williamson, quit it" he said with a annoyed voice. Although it seemed the trooper was about to say something back it seemed like he remembered that Vinigan had also been involved in the episode. Vinigan imagined that it would probably surprise a bit that he still seemed to defend him.

Post by Elijah 'Havok' Thomson on Aug 5, 2014 17:08:31 GMT -5
Elijah sat in the cockpit with one hand propping his head up as the ATC droned on in his ear about Nav' Points and standard procedures. He would have happily fallen asleep on the line to let the guy keep talking to himself but he was also being kept busy by trying to muffle the Master Caution alarm that was attempting to blare out of the cockpit speaker.
His attention was pulled back to the ATC when he heard "Sparrow 4 did you copy my last?" Elijah jumped slightly in his seat and mashed the talk button on the side of his helmet, "Oh yeah Sparrow 4 copies, everything's just peachy here!" He dropped the channel.
Goddamn about time!
He set about glancing all around trying to find the 'Silence audible alarms' key. "Aha! Found you!" He yelled out as he smashed his fist into a button. The blaring ceased and Elijah let out a sigh of relief, "Now to find what was actually causing that." He opened the warning display panel on one of his holographic MFCDs and realised what was wrong. "How the fu-" He smacked himself in the face as he turned almost completely around in the seat and flicked on the 'Ground Safety' switch, as soon as this happened the Master Caution light blinked out.
His co-pilot turned his head and spoke over the local network, "Hey Havok, are we alright?" Elijah gave him a thumbs up and said "Don't worry buddy, we're all green now!" He opened a channel to the group leader who was listed as Commander Kirkwood, "Hey Commander, Sparrow 4 here, do we have an ETA on when we're leaving? I'm gettin' real tired of lookin' at these landing pads."

All Lamond did was confirm what Alex already knew. Well kind of knew. Lamond was a veteran compared to Alex and knew a lot more than him. However it seemed no matter how much experience you had in the field, no one had any idea what was going on until told by the commander or someone within the command structure. Alex really wanted to get things on the road, leave this fucking planet, and found out why he was woken up so early in the morning. The thought of what was to come scared him slightly. He heard about war. He'd seen the videos, he'd read about the battles in the papers. But it was a totally different think to experience first hand. He could see it on the faces of Lamond, Vinigan, Sergeant Silva and the platoon leader. A lot of them were young, almost a few years older than Alex, but yet they looked like old souls. Like they had lived a thousands lives and then some.
"Yeah, Lamond, I know that but-" Huxley was interrupted by the Platoon Leader entering the Sparrow.
Alex snapped to his feet, "I'm on it, sir". Alex stood and began walking down the length of seats as the soldiers began sitting down and locking into place. His hands yanked on the rigs to make sure they didn't budge and continued down the line, casually nodding and smiling to the other guys and gals. He made it down the line to where Lillian Parker sat across from the man he was checking. He left that guy and made his way over to her and tugged on her straps. He winked, smiled, and shook his head as he finished and continued down his own line. When he was finished, he sat down into his. He was than checked and held his thumb up down the line, "Row 2 is all good, sir!"

Admin Post Hancock System, Stataca, Hades Base Camp 1/3/2759 0411 Hours
“Sparrow Four this is Hades Control. You are cleared for lift off, have a nice day over.” The voice boomed into Elijah’s earpiece. The lights dimmed down below for a second and then flickered back on again this time red. Down below on the landing pad, a high pitch was heard if one was not wearing noise cancelling head gear. The pitch got louder and louder until the flames from the jets were seen and the wings then expanded shortly afterwards. The Sparrow then slowly lifted itself off of the ground and continued to rise, dust was seen being kicked up. The troopers inside felt the shaking of the craft as it whipped itself into the sky and as it got faster the troopers inside felt as if they were on a wild roller coaster ride. As they got father and farther up into the atmosphere it got more bumpy, causing some to grit their teeth. It was temporary but for some they felt as if it would never end. Then the bumping stopped as they arrived into space….. OOC: Post here 32honoredbrothers.proboards.com/post/1652/thread
